Former minister B Sriramulu’s Badavara Shramikara Matthu Raithara (BSR) Congress party won the Taluk Panchayat election conducted for the second term here on Friday.
Party’s candidates Gadi Lingappa from Sanjeevarayanna Kote constituency was elected the president and Maremma from Siddammanahalli constituency his deputy. They defeated Nagarathnamma and Shankaramma of JD(S). Of the total 31 members, 29 members participated in the election.
The newly elected members were greeted by legislator G Somashekhara Reddy.
