State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa and Union Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister H N Ananth Kumar have been directed to appear before the cyber crime police to provide their voice samples in connection with a complaint filed by the Congress regarding payments made to the BJP high command.

While disposing of a petition on Saturday, the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate gave seven days to the two leaders to appear before the investigating officer to provide their voice samples.

C M Dhananjaya, chairman of KPCC’s legal cell, had filed a complaint on February 15 referring to a CD which allegedly caught Yeddyurappa and Ananth Kumar in conversation about the payment made to the BJP high command.

The Congress had released an edited video to counter Yeddyurappa’s allegations that chief minister Siddaramaiah sent Rs 1,000 crore, which were kickbacks received from various projects in the state, including the controversial steel flyover proposed in Bengaluru, to the Congress top brass in Delhi.

The police registered a case and took up investigations. The police had slapped notices on the two leaders directing them to give their voice samples, but the two had not turned up.
The Congress moved the court seeking directions to the two leaders to give their voice samples.
