Ugly and unsavoury incidents unfolded in the presence of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and his son MP B Y Raghavendra during the election for taluk unit of BJP in Shikaripur on Saturday.

It may be mentioned here former Legislator Shantaveerappa Gowda was overlooked for recently held MLC election. Shantaveerappa had openly expressed ire against party leadership and had kept away from campaigning.

When former MP Ayanur Manjunath was about to commence his speech, a section of BJP activists which was unhappy over denial of ticket for Shantaveerappa raised slogans against party leadership in the meeting.

Police were called to clear the venue from slogan-raising activists. Addressing the meet later, CM Yeddyurappa, however, said that there is no scope for indiscipline in BJP, which is a party with a difference and known for values.
