BJP state unit president B S Yeddyurappa has said that the party neither lures any MLA from the Congress or the JD(S) into its fold by forcing them to resign from their Assembly membership nor it is necessary for the party.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said, “We are doing our duty as Opposition. A list of 28 party candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls will be released in one go”.

When asked about the possibility of inducting Umesh Jadhav into the party fold in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yeddyurappa said that Jadhav, who has just tendered his resignation from the Assembly membership, should clarify on his joining. But, the BJP will, by hook or crook, win Gulbarga Lok Sabha constituency in the coming Lok Sabha polls, he said.

To another query, the Opposition leader told that no discussion has been held so for on whether the party should field its candidate or should extend its support to actor
Sumalatha in Mandya Lok Sabha constituency.

Referring to Chincholi Congress MLA Umesh Jadhav’s resignation, former deputy chief minister R Ashoka said that the first wicket in the Congress and JD(S) coalition government has fallen due to the internal bickering.

More wickets will start rolling as differences escalate. The BJP is not behind it. Once the election to the Lok Sabha is announced, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address three rallies in the state, he added.

Wait for a day: Jadhav

Meanwhile, Umesh Jadhav has kept everyone guessing saying that he will take a decision on joining the BJP on Wednesday.

He told DH, “I have resigned from the Assembly membership on Monday and have not discussed about my future move with the leaders and voters of my constituency. Hence, one should wait for a day.”
