The Chief Minister submitted his reply to the Central Election Commission.

The EC had served the notice on the CM with respect to allegations that he had violated the model code of conduct in his campaign speeches in Santhemarahalli and neighbouring villages on August 10.

The EC had asked the CM to file his reply by 10 am on Sunday.

According to the CM’s legal advisor K Divakar, the Chief Minister had aid the programmes he referred to in his speech were not new as they were already included in the state budget.

Referring to reports appearing in the media that the Chief Minister had told the voters that the constituency would not see any development works if the BJP candidate was not voted, Divakar said the CM was misquoted.
