Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister K S Eshwarappa has expressed confidence that Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa would prove majority on the floor of the house on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters at Shivamogga, he accused the Congress and the JD(S) of attempting to come to the power through backdoor.

"The Congress has won 78 seats and has decided to give the power to the JD(S) which has won 38 seats. The decision to cling to power has given rise to resentment among many Congress leaders. Hence, Yeddyurappa will win the floor test," he said.

He said that the BJP might consider a few options including issuing whip and making MLAs abstain from the floor test.

"One of the options will work out," he expressed confidence.

"Many MLAs from the JD(S) and the Congress are in touch with us," he claimed.
