Shivakumar from Haliyur in Hasan bagged the first place in the race by covering the target in 16.63 seconds. Second place has been bagged by Kote Manjunath from Chikmagalur who covered the distance in 16.75 seconds followed by M S Kumar of Ramanathpur in Hassan who covered the distance in 17.25 seconds.
A total of 44 carts took part in the race. The cart which went out of control of the driver hit the tree during the race. No untoward incident took place during the race.
Town Municipal Council President D K Ningegowda inaugurated the competition. CDA former president Kote Ranganath, TP President Kanakaraj Aras among others were present.
