Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is likely to visit New Delhi after August 16 to discuss the much-delayed expansion of his council of ministers with the Congress high command.

Sources in the state Congress said Siddaramaiah has sought an appointment with Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for this purpose. Currently, there are three vacancies in the council of ministers. The vacancies have been created due to the death of H S Mahadeva Prasad and resignation of H Y Meti and G Parameshwara.

This apart, the sources said that Rahul is scheduled to address a rally to be organised by the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee at National College grounds in Bengaluru on August 16. The top Congress leader is arriving in Bengaluru on August 16 to inaugurate Indira Canteens, where food will be sold at subsidised rate. He is also scheduled to address a party rally at Raichur on August 12.
