Cages placed to trap killer beast

Addressing media persons after issuing a compensation cheque for Rs 3 lakh to the family of the deceased on Wednesday, he said the remaining Rs 2 lakh compensation amount will be credited to the bank within a couple of days.

He disclosed that cages have been placed at two places to trap the wild beast. He also sought the cooperation of people until trapping the leopard . Night patrol would be in place in the region to create awareness about the prevailing danger among villagers, he added.

It is said that the leopard appeared at the place where the body of the boy was found, on Tuesday morning. It disappeared after seeing light from the vehicle of forest department staff.
