Cancer incidences on rise

The minister said, “There is an increase in the incidence of  cancer cases, which called for adequate medical facilities. Currently we are constructing hospitals in Bangalore and Hubli, shortly the facilities will be extended to Belgaum and Gulbarga.”

Announcing the Centre for Bone Bank, Dr Srinivas C H, Assistance Professor- Orthopaedic Onco surgeon and Director of Jagruthi Bone Cancer Treatment and Research Trust said that nearly 15 to 20 thousand people in India suffer from bone cancer every year, and more than 60 per cent of them are children between the age group of 5 -15 years.
According to Dr Srinivas, there are less than 10 doctors in India to treat patients suffering from bone cancer. More than 1,000 handprints from students was also collected.
