Ahead of the Dasara festival, the City Armed Reserve (CAR) Police are gearing up for the customary cannon firing ritual. As many as 30 personnel took out a few cannons that were kept at the Mysuru Palace and cleaned them after offering puja.

A 21-round cannon salute will be offered before the commencement of the Jamboo Savari on Vijayadashami day.

Traditional Dasara in Palace

Scion of the erstwhile royal family Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar said that this time, Dasara will be celebrated in a significant manner in the Mysuru Palace.

Yaduveer, who has already conducted the private durbar twice, said that he has understood most of the rituals and the celebrations will be conducted under the guidance of the Palace priests.
