Speaking to reporters, he pointed out that out of Rs 1,200 crore released by the Union Government only Rs 700 crore is utilised by states. “Some have failed to utilise them completely, we will consider all these aspects before allocating funds this year,” he said.
On the Horticulture Mela, he said that the Government is planning to organise horticulture fairs to showcase a variety of its produce in the Gulf region to boost exports.
He said that Gulf countries offer a huge export potential, which will be a great help to the farmers.
He also said that two such melas held at Kochi and New Delhi earlier was a big hit and hoped that Bangalore will repeat it.
