Centre has no plans to reopen HAL airport

The Union government has submitted before the High Court of Karnataka that there is no change in its policy regarding the re-opening of the HAL airport.

During the hearing of a PIL petition challenging the decision to open Bangalore International Airport Limited (now KIA), the Additional Solicitor General of India and senior counsel Prabhulinga K Navadgi submitted that the decision to open the BIAL (KIA) and closure of HAL airport was an informed decision and the same was taken after due deliberations
.He further submitted that in the matter of economy the court should be reluctant to interfere.
The matter has been adjourned.
