AICC spokesperson and communications in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala accused the Centre of meting out a step-motherly treatment to Karnataka.
Speaking with reporters at the district Congress office in Mangaluru on Sunday, he said that the state was being deprived of various funds and projects for which it is eligible.
Infrastructure projects worth Rs 78,727 crore, to be implemented by the Centre, have been delayed on purpose, he alleged.
Even though the state was affected by severe drought, the relief released for farmers was limited to Rs 795.5 crore instead of Rs 3310.83 crore.
He pointed out that various funds including PM's relief fund, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana and National Food Security Mission funds have been drastically decreased.
Also, the funds for Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Sashaktikaran Abhiyan (RGPSA) scheme was reduced to a mere Rs 6 crore from the earlier Rs 46.1 crore.
The previous UPA Government had allocated a whole lot more funds to Karnataka, as compared to the current NDA government, even though there was BJP-JD(S) regime in the state then, he pointed out.
