There will be a revolt in the country if the Constitution is changed, warned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Speaking after inaugurating a number of projects here, he said changing the Constitution, sowing seeds of hatred between people of different faiths and creating unrest in the society were the BJP's 'hidden agenda'.
Hitting out at Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde over his remarks, he said, "It is not easy to change the Constitution in this country. Here, people still believe in democracy. We will not allow a change in the Constitution," the chief minister said.
When BJP was in power, the government spent Rs 18,000 crore on irrigation. The Congress government has spent Rs 45,000 crore in four years, he said.
"We have fulfilled all the promises in our manifesto. We will open another 250 Indira canteens in the state," the chief minister said.
He took a jibe at JD(S) supremo and former prime minister Deve Gowda, saying his party was daydreaming of coming to power in the event of a hung Assembly.
