The film festival is organised jointly by district administration and Children Film Society of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jaffer said quality films can be used to inculcate moral values in children. Additional deputy commissioner P C Rajanna, H P Manjula of department of youth services and sports, information officer Raju, DDPI K Gopal, theatre manager Jayaprakash, D’Souza of Film Society of India were present.
The festival would screen films in select theatres until September 14.
