District Youth JD(S) secretary Kalyanarao Ambalagi had filed a petition alleging violation of reservation roster at Chinchasanur of Alanda constituency.
Additional Advocate General Nataraj, who appeared for the State Election Commission submitted that according to a Supreme Court ruling, the elections cannot be stayed after notification. Justice Rammohan Reddy vacated the stay.
The petitioner, however, told Deccan Herald that he would appeal to the Division Bench.
ZP polls on Jan 1
Following the High Court vacating the stay on Gulbarga Zilla Panchayat polls, the State Election Commission on Wednesday announced that the elections for 43 ZP seats will be held on January 1.
SEC Secretary D K Ravindranath said the scrutiny of nomination papers will be taken up on December 22, while the last date for withdrawal of nominations is December 24.
