The Legislative Assembly on Thursday approved the Karnataka Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2009, which intends to replace the term civil judge (junior division) and civil judge (senior division) mentioned in the respective enactments, rules and circulars. The Bill was tabled as per the recommendations of the first National Judicial
Pay Commission.
Besides, the Government introduced the Karnataka State Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2009.
The Bill seeks to establish a separate university with head-quarters at Davangere.
