Ambient air quality in Mysore city is satisfactory according to a press release issued by environmental officer of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) here recently.
Ambient air quality has been monitored at two stations in the city from May 1 to 31 for a period of 24 hours average under the National Air Monitoring Programme.
The suspension of sulphur dioxide is 11.5μ/m3 against standard 80 μ/m3 at the KSRTC building at KR Circle and 9.6μ/m3 against standard of 80μ/m3 at KSPCB building at Hebbal Industrial Area.
The suspension of oxides of nitrogen has been recorded at 21.9μ/m3 against a standard of 80μ/m3 at KSRTC building at KR Circle and 26.3μ/m3 against standard of 80μ/m3 at KSPCB building at Hebbal Industrial Area.
The presence of suspended particulate matter is 58μ/m3 against standard 100μ/m3 at the KSRTC building at KR Circle and 57μ/m3 against standard of 100μ/m3 at KSPCB building at Hebbal Industrial Area.
