Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday expressed displeasure on reports in a section of the media that he was wearing footwear while showering petals on goddess Chamundeshwari during Vijaya Dashami celebrations at Mysore on Saturday.

Siddaramaiah in his Facebook page said he wore black shoes and ankle length white socks for the Dasara Utsava at Mysore Palace. “When the Jamboo Savari of Goddess Chamundeshwari approached the dais stand, I removed my black shoes at my seat below, climbed up the ladder and showered flowers on the Goddess,” he said. The chief minister also posted a series of photographs on his Facebook page to prove his point.
