Former MP A H Vishwanath (Congress) has said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would have paid the money, as accused by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, to the Congress high command to safeguard his position.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, he said the political background of MLC Govindaraju, who is also the Parliamentary Secretary to the chief minister was not above board. “So, the allegations by the BJP should not be taken lightly. KPCC president G Parameshwara should lodge a complaint against Govindaraju to initiate a probe to bring out the truth. The silence of the KPCC chief at this juncture is not justified,” he said.

Vishwanath said that either the BJP or Govindaraju might have hatched a conspiracy and hence Govindaraju should come clear about the charges.
