Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and newly appointed All India Congress Committee General Secretary in charge of Karnataka and his team of four secretaries will have their first official interaction on Wednesday.
Though Venugopal has been in Bengaluru for the past two days and has been welcomed and felicitated by Siddaramaiah, he is yet to discuss party affairs with the latter.
Siddaramaiah has invited the AICC team for breakfast at his official residence on Wednesday. Resentment in the party and complaints on the style of functioning of senior leaders are likely to be discussed. He is also likely to discuss the appointment of a new Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President during their one-to-one interaction. Siddaramaiah and Parameshwara have not been seeing eye-to-eye lately.
Party affairs will be discussed on a broader canvas later in the afternoon at the coordination committee meeting scheduled to be held at the KPCC office. Besides Siddaramaiah and Parameshwara, the panel has senior leaders including D K Shivakumar and K J George. It will also be the first coordination meeting of the AICC team after their appointment to Karnataka.
Party functionaries continued to lobby for the post of KPCC chief on Tuesday with supporters of Shivakumar, Mallikarjun Kharge, M B Patil and S R Patil plumping for their respective leaders.
