The CM, in his letter to Dr Manmohan Singh, has said that considering the performance of the State, the provision for wages under the Scheme was increased from Rs 1084.72 cr to 2,846.83 cr for the year 2009-10.
The Centre’s assurance to release the amount in two installments has not been fulfiled. Instead only a sum of Rs 121.25 crore, enough for one-week’s payment was released as the seventh installment.
The State has spent 75.24 pc of the funds available as on January 5. An expenditure of Rs 850.80 crore has been incurred in the last three months.
