The CM has written two separate letters to Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora in this regard.

Yeddyurappa in his letter said the State government has signed a memorandum of understanding with Gas Authority of India Ltd for two gas-based power projects.

As the gas pipeline from Krishna Godavari to Maharashtra will be passing through Karnataka, the GAIL has proposed a link from Humnabad in Bidar. He appealed to the Centre to allocate 20 per cent of gas in the basin to the State to help tide over the power crisis.
