Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will wait for a report from the Revenue department before deciding whether any action needs to be taken against Chief Secretary Arvind Jadhav, sources said.

Jadhav has been charged with playing a role in getting government land transferred in the name of his mother, illegally.

Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office said Siddaramaiah has decided to wait for a report being prepared by Revenue department Principal Secretary E V Ramana Reddy on the charges against Jadhav.

On Saturday, Siddaramaiah refused to answer queries from reporters whether Jadhav has been asked to go on leave.

“This much (the outcome of a meeting on the Cauvery issue)  is enough for today,”  he said and walked away.

Jadhav attended all official meetings on Saturday wherein his presence is required as per the protocol.

‘Extension unlikely’

Jadhav was due to retire in June this year and was given a three-month extention. Official sources said Jadhav is unlikely to be granted a second extention.
And, in all probability he would be completing his three-month extension tenure, it is said.
