Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who claims to be a socialist, landed in fresh controversy after the video clips of what appeared to be his personal assistant Kumar helping him wear his shoes, went viral on Sunday.

Siddaramaiah had visited the house of veteran actor Chetan Rama Rao, to pay his last respects to the actor who had died on Friday night.

According to those who were present there, the chief minister stood near the main door of the house and soon Kumar brought Siddaramaiah’s footwear and helped him wear them. A Congress leader, on condition of anonymity, said, the chief minister should  not have done this. Though Kumar is his PA, he has respect and dignity, he said.

Another leader, who saw the visuals, claimed that Kumar has great respect for Siddaramaiah and thus voluntarily brought the shoes to help the chief minister. He also said that this was the first time he had seen Siddaramaiah make someone help him wear his shoes.
