Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking the release of wages under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme at the earliest.
In his letter to Modi, copies of which were released to the press, Siddaramaiah stated that the Centre had also not released wages under MGNREGS since June 24 this year.
The pending dues amounted to Rs 288 crore. Demand for work on account of drought had increased in the state, Siddaramaiah stated.
