Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday said he will take steps to resolve all issues related to customs and immigration for Haj pilgrims.
After meeting a delegation of Muslim religious leaders at his home office ‘Krishna’, he said he will soon write to the Union Home Minister and the External Affairs Minister in this regard.
Minister for Urban Development and Haj R Roshan Baig told reporters that Haj pilgrims now have to undergo customs and immigration checks at airports. Till recently, these checks were done at Haj centres. Hence, the religious leaders have requested the chief minister to take up the issue with the Centre, he said.
