CMC chief H C Rangaswamy passes awayHe had assumed charge in August last year

He had assumed charge in August last year.

According to his family members, he came home late after participating in New Year’s eve party with his friends. Rangawamy was an active member of Hassan Club and used to wake up early morning to play badminton. This morning, his daughter-in-law tried to wake him up, but he had breathed his last.

On the receipt of information, Deputy Commissioner Naveen Raj Singh and Superintendent of Police K V Sharathchandra rushed to his house and paid their last respects. They also placed a wreath on the mortal remains of Rangaswamy as a mark of respect.

The body was kept for public viewing till 5.30 pm and later it was taken out in a procession on the main roads of the city. The last rites were performed near Hanumamma Chaluvaiah choultry.

MLA H S Prakash, Former CMC president Channaveerappa, G T Kumar and others participated.

Background

H C Rangaswamy was elected to Hassan CMC for the second term. He was elected unopposed as president just four months ago.
