In a CMC meeting held here on Wednesday, members Chummi Devaiah said footpaths have been encroached on way to Omkareshwara temple. However, no action has been initiated so far. The parking space of a complex where ‘More’ is situated has been converted into stalls. Many of the commercial complexes have not given facility for parking and have violated the rules, she alleged.

CMC President P D Ponnappa said officials were directed to check the ground floor which has been reserved for parking in the commercial complex on Omkareshwari road.

He also directed the officials to conduct a survey on the footpath of the road leading to Omkareshwari Temple. He also urged the officials to initiate measures to against violation of rules in commercial complex.

The officials were asked to evict the shops in ground flood where parking facilities have been created. A drive will be undertaken under the guidance of Commissioner K Srikanthrao.

A resolution was taken to relive Assistant Executive Engineer Sadananda from CMC for dereliction of duty. The working style of such officials are responsible for rise in illegal buildings in the city. The work under 18 per cent grant has been neglected. He will be relived if all the members agree, said Ponnappa.

He appealed the public to co-operate with the CMC in controlling stray dogs and cattle in the town. As many as 350 to 400 stray dogs have been captured and left in the far off places. The cattle have been kept in cattle pound. Government is ready to pay Rs 435 for capturing a dog.
