Six drowning crew from a sunken Tug, Revti, being rescued by Indian Coast Guard Ship Amartya on Monday.

Amartya, an Indian Coast Guard ship, based in Mangaluru on safety and security patrol off Mumbai, responded to a distress call from a sinking tug, Revti, and rescued six crew on board.

The rescue operation being swift, Amartya saved the crew from the sunken tug at 10.54 am on Monday.

The rescued crew were provided necessary medical aid. All the crew are stable.

One crew of the tug is reportedly missing and one Coast Guard Helicopter and ICG ship are still engaged in a search operation of the missing crew, said S S Dasila, Coast Guard Karnataka Commander.
