Addressing a press meet here on Monday, he said the original caste and income certificates must be returned to the students after verifying the photocopy with the original certificate. Applications for caste and income certificates will not be received at the Nemmadi Kendra. Instead, arrangements have been made to provide the certificates throughout the schools itself.
He said “the applications for income and caste certificates must be submitted to the schools. We have already received 62,000 applications. The process for issuing the certificates will take 10 to 15 days. However, some applicants who have submitted applications through schools have given the same to Nemmadi Kendra as well, thus creating unnecessary burden on us,” he added.
The caste and income certificates are valid for five years, he informed.
In case of emergency, the head of the school or college should send a list of applicants with name and address who have submitted application for the caste and income certificates to the Tahsildar. Tahsildar will inturn send a provisional list next day. Accordingly, the schools and colleges can issue scholarships or admit students. The original certificate will be sent to the school later, which should be handed over to the applicant.
