All districts in the state will have a comprehensive solid waste management plant, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister K S Eshwarappa said.

The government has been emphasising the Swaccha Bharath campaign across the state. The government will release funds to set up comprehensive SWMs in all districts, Eshwarappa said here on Sunday. He was speaking after launching ‘Swachcha Vahana’ vehicles (used for garbage collection) here on Sunday.

He said that a material recovery facility had been set up at Nitte gram panchayat in Udupi district covering 42 gram panchayats. The second such unit will come up at Thenka Edapadavu in Dakshina Kannada district.
