The programme was inaugurated by the District Congress Committee President B Ramanatha Rai.
Former MP Vinaya Kumar Sorake, former MLA Vijaykumar Shetty, KPCC secretary Badruddin, DCC vice president Ivan D’Souza, leaders M G Hegde, Moinuddin Bawa, B K Sudheer and others were present. Padayathra which commenced from DCC office proceeded to Bunder, Central market and other places.
Party sources said that the fund will be handed over to the Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj on Wednesday.
