Protesters took out a rally from Sangameshwarapet to Kadabagere and later held ‘Rastha roko’ near the bus stand for some time.
Khandya hobli Congress unit President B N Somesh, addressing the reporters said that Jeevraj has to resign from the post because the lands which should have gone to poor and the needy have been given to elite and riches due to Jeevaraj’s interference.
“Jeevaraj has misused his power and given the land to his supporters. Since an inquiry has proved that Jeevaraj had indulged in corrupt practices while distributing the land, he should resign from the post taking up moral responsibility,” he said.
Zilla Panchayat former member Sathish said that the misappropriations in distribution of land in ‘Akrama Sakrama’ and ‘Bagahar Hukum’ Committees holds mirror to the existing situation of the State and the Government’s anti-people policy.
