Not only Hassan, the Government is spending Rs 27 crore in Ramanagar to construct a similar college. These colleges were sanctioned when H D Kumaraswamy was the chief minister and H D Revanna was the PWD minister.
Revanna represents Holenarasipura in Hassan district, while H D Kumaraswamy used to represent Ramanagar assembly constituency.
‘Exorbitant’
Higher Education Minister Aravind Limbavali on Monday admitted that money being spent on these college buildings is exorbitant. “As a civil engineer myself, I don’t think so much money is required to construct a college,” he stated.
He further said once the building construction work is completed, he will take appropriate action in this regard. “If I order a probe now, the building construction work will be stalled. Hence, I will take action after it is completed,” the Minister added.
