Accusing the State Government of lacking moral values, former prime minister H D Deve Gowda opined people’s movement against the corruption is only the solution to eradicate corruption from the current political system in the State.

At a news conference here on Tuesday, he said the incumbent government was riddled with caste and buying votes with money power. The ministers, legislators use unparliamentary words that were never used by netas in the past. Unfortunately, even the heads of mutts were rescuing the chief minister  B S Yeddyurappa and threatening to launch a statewide agitation if anybody tries to destablises the government.

Gowda said the national BJP leaders had been supporting Yeddyurappa despite the latter had been facing the charges of corruption, nepotism and favouritism. This was unprecedented in his five decades of political experience.

On frequenting Raj Bhavan by the opposition party leaders, Gowda defended it and said the Governor, H R Bhardwaj was an expert on legal issues. “I and Yeddyurappa have no right to question the knowledge of the Governor and his constitutional responsibilities.

Gowda criticised the Congress led UPA Government and said there is no coordination among ministers as contradictory statements were issued by ministers on important issues. This showed lack of understanding among them.
