Prajwal has been charged with rape and outraging the modesty of women in three cases. Some cases are at the stage of hearing before the charge.

In his petition to the high court, the former JD(S) MP submitted that the media would unnecessarily create chaos on the premises if he appeared physically before the court. His advocate also submitted that CDR materials related to the case have not been provided.

To this, the additional state public prosecutor submitted that he would provide one more copy of CDR related to the case and requested the court not to accept Prajwal’s request for appearance via video conference. The special court posted the matter to Wednesday for further hearing.

The special court is proceeding with the hearing before the charge after the high court directed it to do so without framing the charges until further orders.
