Cracks in the walls of a house have given rise to fears of tremors among residents of Chikkabagilu village in the taluk on Monday. Similar cracks in the walls of the government high school in the village on Tuesday added to their anxiety.
Mahadevaswamy, a resident of the village, complained about tremors after he observed cracks in the walls of his house on Monday. On Tuesday, similar cracks were seen in the government school building. Students were made to sit outside the building as a precautionary measure.
Speaking to DH, Nagabhushan of the department of Mines and Geology, said it was not an earthquake as feared by the people.
