New Delhi: Criticising Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his statement that rapes too happened during the BJP regime also in Karnataka, Union Steel and Heavy Industries Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said that the Congress ruled government’s casual approach is main reason for increasing crimes in the state.
"Rapes too happended earlier also. What action did the Congress ruled government take to prevent such crimes ?. The CM should first answer this," he said.
Whenever major crime incidents happen in the state, either the CM or Home Minister always have a habit of issuing very casual statements, he said.
Alleging that the law and order situation in Karnataka totally collapsed, Kumaraswamy said that people of state are living in panic due to increasing incidents of crimes including robberies and sexual assault on women.
The recent incidents of robberies indicate that there was lawlessness prevailing across the state and the government has no control over the policing, Kumaraswamy alleged.
When the Congress ruled government giving posting by taking huge bribes, naturally crimes in the state were increasing as police officials were busy collecting money instead of focusing on law and order, he alleged.
