Arun Jaitley, deputed by the party high command, had words of praise for the State government, he added.

He said that he does not nurse any ambition of sticking to his position, adding that his main aim is to serve the people of the State.

Speaking to reporters in Subrahmanya after offering tulabhara in raisin (90 kg) and panchamritha mahabhisheka, he said, “Jagadish Shettar has a feeling that he was not given a berth. I had spoken to him and given him an assurance 15 days ago, but he is not convinced with my words. So there is a bit of confusion in the party. However, there is no difference of opinion.”

To a query on change in Cabinet, he said, “there is no post of Deputy CM in Cabinet. The national leaders’ decision on it is final. We have not received any demand for dropping some Ministers from the Cabinet.”

Mutual cooperation

To a query on Reddy brothers, he said, “We formed the government with the support of Reddy brothers. We will continue with mutual cooperation. In case of necessity I will speak to them.”
He said he will take part in laying foundation stone for various works which aim at providing permanent solution to the flood victims in North Karnataka between November 1 and 4. He will meet Home Minister P Chidambaram and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in this regard soon.

Yeddyurappa said that the government has undertaken the work of building houses for the displaced people by utilising calamity relief fund of Rs 750 crore. The work on shifting of the villages in flood-affected areas are being undertaken at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore.
