Crop loan waiver: BJP padayatra from today

The BJP will start a three-day padayatra from Ramanagara, the home turf of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, to Bengaluru demanding complete waiver of crop loan from Thursday.

According to BJP functionaries, the padayatra will be launched from Kengal temple in Ramanagara district. According to them, 3,000 farmers are participating in the padayatra and it will culminate in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The BJP has been demanding an across the board crop loan waiver which stands at Rs 53,000 crore and all outstanding borrowings of farmers which totals to Rs 1.14 lakh crore.
