As many as 16 companies out of 100 business enterprises from diverse sectors were shortlisted for these case studies. Although all the companies gave an account of their performance vis-a-vis corporate social responsibility, none of them sounded satisfactory.
According to London-based Dr Madhav Mehra, President, World Council for Corporate
Governance, it showed that a lot needed to be done in order to fulfill the responsibility that corporate companies have towards the society.

“Several of them said that they were devoting one to one-and-a-half per cent of their profits to build a better society. But the reality is different as the figures do not wholly reflect the results,” he told Deccan Herald.

Representatives of Cairn India, Coca Cola India and other companies  gave a presentation  at the event, the media partner of which was Deccan Herald.
