Serial rapist Cyanide Mohan was awarded life imprisonment without remission in two separate cases by Sixth Additional District and Sessions Judge D T Puttarangaswamy on Wednesday.
Mohan had lured his first victim - from Kedila village of Bantwal taluk - into eloping with him to Madikeri in January 2009. After sexually assaulting her in a hotel, he made her take cyanide tablets, convincing her it would prevent unwanted pregnancies.
In March 2009, he lured a woman from Peraje in Madikeri taluk into travelling with him to Mysuru. He sexually assaulted her in a KSRTC bus stand toilet and forced her to take cyanide tablets.
