Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada BJP in association with Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike will stage a protest condemning the recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu of ISKCON in Bangladesh, in Mangaluru on December 4.

A protest march will be taken out from Ambedkar Circle to Mini Vidhana Soudha on the occasion. Various mutt heads, seers, BJP MLAs, MP will take part in the protest, said DK BJP president Sathish Kumpala to mediapersons.

ISKCON, an organisation born for peace in the world, has gained the love of people globally. Authorities in Bangladesh have arrested ISKCON seer Chinmoy Das Prabhu. “We urge them to release immediately and protect the interest of Hindus in Bangladesh,” he said.

After the protest , a memorandum will be submitted to the Governor to be forwarded to the President of India. “We want to pressurise the Central government to urge Bangladesh to protect religious minorities, amid tensions over arrests and violence. The rioters have attacked Hindu temples, places of worship, and cultural centres. The centre should consider the issue seriously and we are confident of PM Narendra Modi taking a proactive measure,” he said.

To a query on row over Waqf properties leading to faction within the party with BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal launching a separate protest against alleged encroachment of farmers land by Waqf Board, in Bidar, Kumpala said “we are united with BJP state president B Y Vijayendra. All the issues and confusions within the party will be sorted out by the BJP high command and national leaders. The party will be organised under the guidance of B Y Vijayendra.”
