Dalits boycott elections at Ghataknur village in Ramdurg village condemning social sanction allegedly imposed on them in Belagavi parliamentary constituency.

The members belonging to Dalit community opposing the social sanction imposed against them by upper-caste people, for not beating the drums, boycotted the elections.

Dalits did not turn up to polling station. Efforts were made by election officials to convince them.
