A native of Coorg and former soldier Somaiah (45) was found dead in a lake close to Teresian College on Tuesday morning. Somaiah (45) was a resident of Giridarshini layout and was working as a security personnel at Lalitha Mahal Palace hotel in the city. A case has been registered.
Suicides
Mallikarjuna (45) of Kailasapuram, who was hospitalised after he consumed pesticide on August 14, breathed his last at a hospital on Tuesday.
According to police, he had consumed poison allegedly unable to bear harassment meted out by his wife. Mallikarjuna was married to Kanyakumari a decade ago and the couple were issueless, and this often led to bitter fights between them. A case has been registered in Mandi station.
Dies
In another case, a teenager Gunalakshmi (17) who had attempted suicide a week ago by consuming poison, died at K R Hospital. Daughter of Ravikumar of Kyatamaranahalli, Gunalakshmi was said to be suffering from acute stomach ache and this forced her to take the extreme step. A case has been registered at Udayagiri station.
