Dattamala Abhiyan led by Bajarang Dal was held peacefully on Tuesday. As many as 9,000 devotees participated in the abhiyan and accepted prasadam at the datta peeta marking grand finale of this year’s Datta mala abhiyan and Datta Jayanthi.

Sathyanarayana puja, Ganahoma and Dattathreya homa were held in the morning. Addressing the reporters at the venue of the homas, BJP State President D V Sadananda Gowda said that all the demands with in connection with the Dattapeeta will be fulfilled within legal framework.

Refusing to clarify his stand on issue of shifting of the ‘gori’ (tomb), he said that a sum of Rs 8 crore has been sanctioned for repair of Chikmagalur-Dattapeeta road. Meanwhile, MLA C T Ravi said that there are group of people who kept quite when a new tomb was built in Dattapeeta premises but this same group brought stay order from the court against repair of the cave.

“These people are disgrace to ‘Sauhardathe’ (harmony),” Ravi said. Seers from various mutts, MLAs M P Kumaraswamy, D N Jeevaraj, Suresh, Bajrang Dal leaders Suryanarayana, Sunil, Mahendra Kumar and others took part in the various religious rituals.
