Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the visit of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to Davangere and Mangalore on Tuesday.

The public rally in Davangere will be held at the High School grounds, while the meeting in Mangalore will be held at Nehru Maidan at 3.30 pm. The organisers are expecting a turnout of 1.5 lakh people in Mangalore and 2.5 lakh in Davangere.

Over 300 buses have been arranged to bring party workers from Bellary, Chitradurga, Haveri, Chikmagalur, Dharwad and other districts for the Davangere meeting.

Former chief ministers B S Yeddyurappa, D V Sadananda Gowda, Jagadish Shettar, former deputy chief ministers K S Eshwarappa, R Ashok and others are expected to participate.

BJP State vice-president Bhanuprakash said that they were striving to make Modi’s campaign in Mangalore and Davangere the largest in south India.

In view of the Z-plus security that the Gujarat chief minister enjoys, the police have barred parking within a 500-metre radius of Nehru Maidan from 24 hours prior to Modi’s visit till the end of the programme.
