K K Pavana, wife of DySP M K Ganapathi, on Tuesday said that the family has got justice to some extent with the Supreme Court ordering a CBI probe into her husband’s suicide.

“The family had demanded a CBI probe. But, we did not get enough support in the beginning. I will stand by my father-in-law M K Kushalappa and brother-in-law M K Machaiah in this fight,” she said.

Pavana said she was unaware of the developments related to the tampering of evidences by the CID team. “Ganapathi did not bring any laptop home. However, he used to mention that he was harassed by some people. He had told the same before the media too,” she added.

Pavana, meanwhile, clarified that she had to withdraw herself from lodging a private complaint as her children’s education was affected during the CID probe and she did not want the inquiries to bother them.

Stating that she was under trauma due to her mother’s death 15 days ago, she refused to comment further on the case.

Ganapathi’s brother Machaiah said that the wrongdoers should be punished. The CID had protected the accused.

Many honest police officials are under pressure. “We are not after anybody’s resignation. But, Minister K J George should respect the law,” he added.
